It's really not for me when it comes to painting miniatures as the acrylic is a much easier transition and saves messing around with stinky messy oils. Still, it's great to hear that other people have different methods of painting- that's what it's all about at the end of the day- individual preference. :)Bedfordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04363108327445559579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-546817945186575904.post-70290896609280105242022-04-13T06:43:50.604-07:002022-04-13T06:43:50.604-07:00I use oil paint, seems simpler to obtain the same...I use oil paint, seems simpler to obtain the same result. using transparent oxide yellow mixed with a bit of cadnium yellow at first and then highlight with the same yellow, mixed with a bit of white or naples yellow. jiluhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14995493996107161680noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-546817945186575904.post-65074954883174318422022-04-12T07:37:10.603-07:002022-04-12T07:37:10.603-07:00I'll get to it ASAP.I'll get to it ASAP. Adding successive amounts of Vallejo Vallejo Model Colour Light Yellow to the Vallejo Model Colour Orange Brown.

It's perfectly possible to start with other browns as a base- the more they lean towards a true "grey" (not actually greys as such but that's another story) the flatter the yellow will be. If it's too bright, one simple solution is to mix a *miniscule* amount of a medium grey into you mix.Bedfordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04363108327445559579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-546817945186575904.post-70730041957609747272022-04-12T03:46:22.531-07:002022-04-12T03:46:22.531-07:00Would love to see a tutorial, as a very new painte...Would love to see a tutorial, as a very new painter it would be extremely helpful.
AndrewQldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12294590904987941700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-546817945186575904.post-18892428616277107602022-04-10T12:16:30.979-07:002022-04-10T12:16:30.979-07:00Cheers Kevin. I also have discovered recently how well Vallejos Ivory helped a lot when lightening colors instead of Vallejo off white.

Cheers
KevinKevinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07496898036305134720noreply@blogger.com
