Hastings Demo (Salute 2016; Sneak Peeks) Part 2

These pics are just a quick record of what I've been up to of late.

There's are a couple of bases of Ceorls and a 'Sneak Peek' of the Harold Godwinson Battle Line Base.

I've got to add sand and indeed filler to most the bases; I'm waiting until I've found my nice mix of various grades of sand which is in my new garage (somewhere!?) and the banner on the Godwinson stand need tidying up and the edges need painting.

See if any of you can spot the (very awkward and somewhat embarrassing) mistake?

Bye for now.

  1. Hello Darrell,

Lovely work going on there! Really good to see the project moving along. The embarrassing mistake - is it something to do with the standard?

    Cheers,

    Richard

    1. Thanks David- i've got another two bases of Ceorls/Lesser Fyrd done- just waiting on more LBM's to arrive (more bog standard standards).

Really enjoying this thus far- working on the four bases of Huscarls that will go with these four Lesser Fyrd bases.

  6. Darrell,
Its going to be a beautiful game.
The only thing I can see that may be wrong is you have forgot to edge the standard, but that is easily rectified.

    1. T%hanks mate.

I'm going to be edging the standard soon Robbie, I'm just waiting on a draco arriving in the post for the other standard bearer. It will of course be red as in the Bayeux Tapestry. :>)

  7. The mistake is that they haven't arrived in my mailbox yet. :). Great work on these I would never have noticed the axe.
