I have to admit, I never really got to play them much with the 6th Ed book and had to put up with the "stand in" army list from one of the journals for most of the time. Still, I had immense fun painting up the army and always had fun getting wiped out lol
At least the photos and good memories remain, nicely done army too, even if they were a bunch of losers, they did it in style and with a good Paint job.
What a beautiful army. How come you let it go? I've only got three units in my WE army from that era. Spear-armed Glade Guard, Way Watchers and War dancers. Love the sculpts.
It's a bit of a funny story.... I moved house and being mainly into historical 28's the group of people I found myself with at the new club were mainly playing WHFB. We were in an upstairs room. Little did i realise just how much historical wargaming their was going on in the downstairs room! LOL
A nice little force and I seem to remember wood elves were never the best but a very characterful force
ReplyDeleteThanks Matt. You're certainly right about that; I hardly won a single game lol
DeleteGreat looking figures.
DeleteIIRC, WElfs were competitive if built and played in certain ways. Luckily, I still have my old army complete with eagle & warhawk flying circus.

DeleteGreat looking army. Shame its long gone
ReplyDeleteThanks Neil. I agree, although I didn't miss it at the time of sale I certainly do now :>(
DeleteIt certainly highlights the wargames "butterfly effect" lol
The photos are a nice find. Thanks for sharing. What a great banner
ReplyDeleteThanks. The banner got me wondering- I *think* I still have the original drawing- if so I'll post it up as an addendum.
DeleteGreat work!
ReplyDeleteThanks again Michal- appreciated :>)
